Practice
Quizzes
Testing yourself is uncomfortable and it works. Use it early, not only in the final week.
Why testing beats re-reading
Reading a note for the fourth time feels productive and mostly is not. Being asked a question you cannot answer feels uncomfortable and is one of the most efficient things you can do with a study hour. The discomfort is the mechanism — that is the moment the fact gets filed properly.
So use this section early rather than at the end. Attempting questions on a chapter you have only half-learned is not cheating and not a waste; it tells you precisely where to go back to, which is information no amount of re-reading will give you.
Two kinds of practice
Previous Year Questions
Questions from past examination papers, with the reasoning behind each answer. These tell you what the examiner actually values.
Practice MCQs
Topic-wise multiple-choice sets written for revision. Instant answers, so you can correct yourself while the question is still fresh.
How to score your own performance honestly
The number you get out of ten matters far less than the reason behind each wrong answer. After every set, sort your mistakes into three piles.
Did not know it
A genuine gap. Go back to the note, learn it, and mark the topic for a revisit in three days. This is the easiest kind of mistake to fix.
Knew it, misread it
The costly kind. Usually caused by rushing past a word like not or except. The fix is procedural, not academic — slow down on the question, not on the options.
Knew it, doubted it
You changed a correct answer. This is a confidence problem and it disappears only with volume. Note how often it happens and watch the number fall.
Candidates who keep this three-way record for a month usually find that only one pile is genuinely academic. The other two are habits, and habits are faster to change than syllabus.
